Guniea Fowl Tumbled Stone

Charcoal-black stone scattered with crisp white crystals, like snow on dark ground. Porphyry is an igneous rock with larger feldspar crystals set in a fine-grained background.

Priced per piece. Every stone is natural and hand-picked, so colour, pattern and size vary slightly from the photographs.

Properties

Uses

• Jewellery: wire-wrapped pendants, charms and drilled beads.
• Collecting: a fine example of the stone, polished to show its natural pattern.
• Décor: bowls, vases, terrariums and display dishes.
• Lapidary and craft: a ready-polished piece for drilling, setting and mosaic work.

Care and cleaning

• Wash in warm water with a little mild soap and dry with a soft cloth. Quartz is hard, but a sharp knock can still chip an edge.
