Olive-green stone splashed with patches of deep red. It is a rock of green epidote with red piemontite, sold in the trade as “dragon blood jasper”, although it is not a true jasper.
Priced per piece. Every stone is natural and hand-picked, so colour, pattern and size vary slightly from the photographs.

Uses
- Jewellery: wire-wrapped pendants, charms and drilled beads.
- Collecting: a fine example of the stone, polished to show its natural pattern.
- Décor: bowls, vases, terrariums and display dishes.
- Lapidary and craft: a ready-polished piece for drilling, setting and mosaic work.
Care and cleaning
- Wash in warm water with a little mild soap and dry with a soft cloth. Quartz is hard, but a sharp knock can still chip an edge.
- It has good cleavage, so protect it from knocks and avoid ultrasonic and steam cleaners.
